Student clubs and activities
All Academy of Urban Planning students have the opportunity to participate in student clubs. Clubs are run by students and facilitated by staff members. Staff members assist students in coordinating club activities. In order to start a club, students need to write a brief description of the proposed club, get 25 signatures and the commitment of a staff member.
Some of the existing Academy of Urban Planning clubs are:
Student Government - students are elected to the executive committee or the position of class representative to represent the interests of the student body.
Urban Word - students work on their own poetry, and hear readings by accomplished poets and spoken word artists.
African Modern Dance
Young Planners Network - connecting youth and adults and working to create a place at the table for youth in planning and community work
